![]() ![]() The first 6 episodes were relatively strong but after that things were just getting far too messy for me to enjoy and follow. It ended up making the structure messy and might I say a tad confusing when it came to following things half of the time. The drama does use flashbacks at certain points but it didn’t utilise them particularly well. For example, it would have been great to see more of a backstory between Ji-Woo and Professor Cha along with his ex-wife, there was a huge opportunity for us to get to know the history behind them further. ![]() There to be more tension between the characters and for some of them to be developed even further. Towards the last 5 or 6 episodes I wasn’t enjoying the drama as much as I did in the beginning. The concept of the AR game was developed really well and the mystery of what exactly happened to Jung Seju did keep me engaged but only to a certain extent. The plot was what really snagged my attention towards this drama and the fact it mixed genres such as mystery, fantasy and romance all in one which are the genres I usually go for. However, when the game proves to be dangerous and the border between AR and real life begins to blur Heeju and Jinwoo become involved in a series of incident and embark on a journey to find the missing game creator of The Memories Of Alhambra Jung Seju. It prompts him to head over to Granada where he tests out the game and stays at a Hostel where Jung Seju family resides. ![]() The Memories Of Alhambra is a fantasy but also mystery Korean Drama which follows CEO Yoo Jin Woo who receives a cryptic call from game creator Jung Seju about a new AR Game. The drama caught my attention based on its unique concept one which I haven’t seen in a Korean Drama before so I was intrigued to see what spin it would have on it. I tuned into the drama during my long month off from University. Wasted production. The Memories Of Alhambra is a Korean Drama that aired this winter which was available to watch on Netflix every Saturday and Sunday with new weekly episodes. which could easily be replaced with something else. they only tried at the end with some references to the Hand of Fatima etc. Nothing about culture of the location made any real impact to the movie at all. they seemed to have just picked Alhambra solely as some location tour partnership or something. This could have easily began in Seoul or anywhere else. Also leading actress is way too young to have been a match for the main actor- their romance and chemistry was not believable at all, please only cast age appropriate actors together, it was like watching a young woman having a fantasy crush on her Uncle.Īlso the fact that they very specifically chose Granada as the place to focus on, the plot didn't even necessarily need to be in Spain. Wasted Hyun Bin's talent on such horrible story writing. Cut out the romance and just focus on the technical parts of the game. The romance plots was UNNECESSARY and in the end frustrated me so much because it was not crucial at all to the outcomes of any part in the show. The show's theme and plot about the video game could have been done so well if creatives had given more respect to the audience and given reasons for all the problems in the game but they decided to just allow it to be a "mystery"? extremely lazy technique and very disrespectful to the fans/ audience. SO MANY PLOTHOLES! so many things left unexplained and writer seemed to think that just because you classify a show's genre as "sci-fi" there's no need to explain why things happen? What messy sloppy and lazy writing is this? I'm amazed this was approved and allowed to be in production. The one star is only because I think the main actor did a great job portraying his character - but even then he could not save the very very VERY excruciatingly terrible plot. ![]()
